Four of our players were selected by Guillaume Gille to join the French team for a training camp in Capbreton. Noah Gaudin and Karl Konan returned to the club at the end of the camp, while Elohim Prandi and Wallem Peleka stayed on and contributed to Les Bleus' victory over Italy in Pau on Saturday (38-28). In great form since the start of the season, Elohim had an excellent game, scoring five goals, while Wallem came off the bench. Noah and Karl were rested for this match.
The France team will meet again in January for the Tournoi de France, followed by the start of their Euro campaign with a match against the Czech Republic on the 15th.
Our Dutch international was in action in the Golden League, a friendly tournament played with Norway, Denmark and the Faroe Islands. And he helped the Netherlands make a pretty good impression, with wins against the Faroe Islands (30-29) and Norway (37-33), one of the nations that will host the 2026 European Championship. The Dutch only stumbled against the Danish world champions (24-40), a match in which Luc scored three goals, as he did against Norway.
The Egyptian national team was on a training camp in Portugal to prepare for January's African Nations Championship, with two friendlies against Portugal on the agenda. The Pharaohs won the first game (32-28), with Yahia finishing as man of the match (eight goals), before suffering a narrow defeat two days later (27-30), despite another strong performance from our superstar (nine goals).
Abdelrahman also made an impact, however, scoring three goals during the break. The African champions will begin their title defence in Rwanda on 21 January 2026.
Sweden also played two matches against the same opponent, taking on a formidable Spain team. The two sides, who faced off in the Euro 2022 final, played out two closely fought matches. Beaten by La Roja in the first encounter (30-34), Sebastian Karlsson (two goals during this break) and his teammates responded well in the next round, clinching a win (34-31). The Swedes will be keen to build on this success ahead of the Euros on home soil in January.
Like the other European nations set for Euro action in January, the Croatians used the international break to prepare for the upcoming Euro with a training camp in Switzerland. After their impressive performance at the last World Cup (defeat in the final against Denmark), Mateo Maras' team is expected to deliver and they prepared well, beating Switzerland in their first clash (29-26) before losing the second (28-30). Maras scored two goals in each match.
With his integartion into the senior team going well since the start of the season, Théo Ducap joined up with the France U21 team for a training camp in Caen, alongside his reserve team colleague Nathan Lafosse. Our young player Séraphin Marie joined Portugal's U18 team to play three friendly matches against Sweden (30-26), France (24-29) and Hungary (32-36), scoring four goals.
